Last night I was like: "You know what sounds fun? Shooting. At night. Imma do that." So I put the babies to bed, grabbed my camera and headed out. My husband was worried about me being safe, but I told him that it was ok because I had my leather leggings and combat boots, and no one wants to mess with that. (Which I was totally wrong about. Some guy randomly pulled over in his car and tried to talk to me. Who does that?!)
Creepy drivers aside, I had a blast! And the photos turned out ok for my first attempt at night photography. Although next time I'll be sure to bring a tripod. :O)
Happy day!

Love these photos!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these!! Did you focus manually? I have the worst time getting anything in focus when I shoot in low light ...
ReplyDeleteThank you! I used auto, it was too freezing to take the extra time to focus manually! But I did notice that it was a little more difficult to focus than usual.
DeleteOh my goodness - I eat at the Bistro all the time! Too funny to find another blogger in our little/big town :)

Whaaaat? No way! Small world! :)
DeleteIt is! I *may* have creeped through your pics a little to see if I recognized you (I don't!). If you're up for it, Tasha and I would love to make you lunch and have a playdate for all our kids - we have two toddler boys, a baby boy, and a baby girl between the two of us and we're always looking for friends for them!

DeleteSome really beautiful and sensitive photographs there Disney, have you seen the photography of brassai? These remind me of his work. X
ReplyDeleteWhat a compliment, thank you! Just looked up his work and it is beautiful.
DeleteNext time bring a tripod AND some pepper spray. ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, right?!
DeleteLove your pictures
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are very cool! But I wondered how you politely broke contact with the random stranger who pulled over to chat. Those interactions make me SO UNCOMFORTABLE because I want to be smart and safe, but also not rude or assuming - what did you say to deflect interaction? I have a feeling you would be good at finding that balance.
