Sweet Little Gift (And making first pillows!)
A sweet reader from Germany sent me a package of goodies this week. When I opened the heavy box full of books, silhouette materials and delicious German candy and chocolate (which didn't last long enough to get a photo...) I confess my first thought was: "Whoa, this must have cost a fortune to ship!" haha.
I simply adored everything in the box, but I let out a super-squeal when I saw "Sewing School" by Andria Lisle and Amie Plumley. I've seen it in our local bookstore and thought Paige would love it. She did! She had a friend over yesterday and they picked out this project to do:
They wanted square pillows instead of round, so we improvised. Easiest project ever, and a great one for kids who have no sewing experience!
They loved picking out fabrics, trying to find the softest ones and pinning them together. I had to laugh at Paige's friend, Sarah who is as OCD as I am about matching her pins to her fabric. She was making a color pattern with them and was so disappointed when she ran out of purple too early. Girl after my own heart. :o)
They are so proud of their finished projects! Paige's is a Christmas present for Daddy. (shhh!)
Thanks so much, Kari from Germany for this wonderful gift! I can't believe you would be so sweet. Paige and Sarah thank you, too! :o)
Have a great day, everyone!
Love,
Disney
