Welcoming Autumn in Our Backyard Fort!
Did you guys all do a happy dance on Saturday?? I know you did if you knew which day it was!
The first day of autumn!
My favorite time of the year. In mid-July I start to imagine the smell of the crisp morning air, the sound of crunching leaves and the taste of a salted caramel mocha. Mmm. It's the most cozy and wonderful thing in the world. It's torture to wait so long for it! So Paige and I decided to celebrate with an outside picnic in a homemade fort. SO. Fun. I saw a photo of a cute couple in a fort on pinterest and I knew we had to try it. I tied rope between a tree and our beautiful chain length fence (don't be jealous) and hung old sheets and blankets. Then we brought out every cozy fall thing we could find, grabbed some fresh gluten-free, vegan bread and peach pie and a book or two and stretched out to enjoy ourselves.
And since a blogger doesn't do anything in life without heavy photographic documentation-I can share the details with you! Yay!
Love,
Disney
P.S. Thank you so much for all the votes so far in the Pins & Needles sewing contest I'm competing in!! It means a lot to me. It doesn't end until friday, so you can still check it out HERE and vote for your favorite for several more days. Thanks! :o)
Your fort is beautiful! I love it! And I also love Autumn I have been wishing for it to arrive for a month already! Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful memories you're making!
ReplyDeleteDisney, I am so jealous right now. I love fall and everything pumpkin. I recently moved from the midwest to south Texas and unfortunately it's just perpetual summer with the low chance of cold front. Anyway, this is just really adorable and seems like a wonderful time!~
ReplyDeletewe just did the same thing for my birthday, although ours was not as cute. we sat on the back of the trailer and dined by the pumpkin patch. the kiddos always love when we do this...so dont i!
ReplyDeleteWOW, what beautiful fall colors. The colors you have captured are so rich and pretty. I like the purple that you included from Paige's clothing.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a perfect way to spend hours on a Fall weekend day. I don't know how you managed to take photos of the bowls of pie - they look so good, they would have been eaten before the first click around my house.
ReplyDeleteYou are making some extraordinary memories with sweet little Paige! I'm so inspired by your cozy little fort. Wonderful pictures, too!
ReplyDeleteI love that wood table, Disney! Where did you find that??
ReplyDeleteMy awesome grandpa made it years ago. I LOVE it. I have another small one that he painted my great-granmother on-such neat treasures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! And I'm sure Paige will always remember the day she sat under a sheet in the yard with her best friend and celebrated the coming of Fall. You are an inspiring Mother! Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are such an awesome Mommy! The things that you do with Paige is amazing. I love reading about and seeing all of your adventures.

This is fantastic! I'm so suspicious of autumn - followed as it is around here by New England winters - that I need to do something to celebrate it before I go nutty!
ReplyDeleteHow precious!
ReplyDeleteI have to say... You are the most wonderful mom to create this little piece of heaven for you and your daughter to share! I'm sure she will remember it forever!
ReplyDeleteWow, those photos are a feast for the eyes, for sure! Simply amazing.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. How cute and fun is this idea?? My kids would love it. And yes, I would totally have to photo document the whole thing too! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! My daughter would love that. Actually, I would love it too! Great job and love the table. Wish I could get one of those made or find one in a thrift store or have one gifted to me or... Love your blog.
