Simple Projects Week: Necklaces!
Just a quick idea today! A very quick idea. :O)
Long necklaces have experienced some extreme popularity over the last few years, so we probably all have at least one or two in our jewelry box! For some reason I never wear them, I guess I prefer a shorter length. So I thought of a quick way to alter them!
Simply cut two lengths of coordinating ribbon, several inches long...
And tie one ribbon to each end of the necklace!
And there you are: a new necklace!
You can always add embellishments if it makes you happy. :o) (And that always makes me happy!)
Two small lengths of ribbon and you've got a new necklace! Isn't that fun? I like how it's doubled up, too. I hope you have fun with them!
Have another wonderful day. It's raining here and I. Am. Happy!! I need a Caramel Apple Spice.
Love,
Disney
Love it!! Thanks Disney!
ReplyDeleteSuperb!! LOVE the cute n simple idea :)
ReplyDeleteLove both of them! :D
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, and I have the perfect necklace to try this on! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I have some long necklaces that I try to loop around my neck twice because they are too long, then they just end up choking me. I will have to try this!
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh, very nice... I never wear long necklaces either because I am too short to pull them off. Love this because you have the option to easily lengthen again if you wanted.
ReplyDeleteI love your site and all the great sewing tutes!
cute and totally do-able!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Great idea and an easy way to revive some old necklaces! I'm going to dust some off tonight!!
ReplyDeleteadd this to the "why didn't i think of this?!" pile .. i prefer a shorter necklace as well, so couple of the longer ones i have just sit, unworn. so brilliant.

ReplyDeleteOh, nice idea! I've got a couple of long necklaces at home that I never wear... I might try it! ^_^
ReplyDeletesimple and pretty!
ReplyDeleteSimple Projects Week is just what I need!
Thank you Disney for cheering me up :)
You are sooooo amazing. I was down today and you and your delightfully delicious ideas brighten my day! Now off to make a necklace, drink a Starbucks, and make dinner for my hubby. Nice shirts by the way.
ReplyDeletesuch a genius idea! I want to try the felt hairbows too
ReplyDeleteThis is SUCH a great idea! Thanks, Disney! I never wear my long necklaces, and now I can wear them again!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you didn't wreck the original necklaces in order to do this! Very cool. I collect vintage rhinestone jewelry and I'm always agast at home many home crafters will unknowingly ruin a 50+ year old brooch worth $100 making a $2 craft project.
ReplyDeleteYour project is great because it makes necklaces more functional (and cute) without ruining the original piece. Kudos!
Love these sweet simple ideas, totally going to try this to! but I have to admit, I'm smitten by the simple bows!

I have seen your tutorials all over pintrest and I am in love! You have amazing work and I can't wait to see what's next from you :)
ReplyDeleteHi! This is my first day on Pintrest. I tried this for Halloween & the part I'm not succeeding in is making the knot look as nice as your. I also don't wear my long neclaces & attempted this before seeing this, but I have a little piece of ribbon sticking out that doesn't look as polished as yours. Do i just cut off the excess ribbon? Is yours tucked in the back?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Wow I think this is the third or fourth item on your blog I have pinned on Pintrest. You are so amazing and awe inspiring. I can not wait to try out some of these ideas on my own.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being simply so amazing.
