Color My Summer Flower Tee Tutorial!
Hi!!
This morning I am sharing a project for KoJo Designs "Color My Summer" event! It's a celebration of all the colors of the rainbow, and I got to create something for the best color of them all...PINK!!
Flowers and pink always go together in my mind, so I couldn't help but combine the two for a fun, cheery, super-girly tee refashion. I love the pop of color!
It is a super easy refashion, so it would be great for a beginner. Or, you know, someone with a short attention span. (Me!!)
Doesn't pink just make you smile?
So! Let's make one!
Start with a plain tee, two 33"x3" strips of knit fabric, one 9"x2" strip of knit, and seed beads or sequins.
1. Gather the first 33" strip to a 15" length and sew the ends together to make a circle. Pin to the middle of your shirt and sew around the gathered edge. Repeat for second strip, gathering to a 10" length, and 3" length for last strip.
2. Cut a 1/2" knit strip to the length of your shirt, pin and sew on with a wide zigzag stitch.
3. Finish by stitching your flower to your shirt in random places to keep it from flopping around. You can make it fancy by stitching on sequins or adding sparkly seed beads!
All done!
I hope you enjoy it! And I hope you stick around Kirstin and Jordan's super-fun blog to celebrate all the colors of the rainbow!
Which color is your favorite??
Okay, I know this post is about a super cute pink tee, but I'm enamored with your super cute pink skirt. Can you tell me about it?
