Paige's Party Tutorials!
When I posted the photos of Paige's party last week, several of you were curious about how to make some of the decorations. So I whipped up a few tutorials for you! They're all really simple...
The first one:
You can get headbands at Walmart (6/$3), and the Dollar Tree (6/$1!)!
I actually freehanded the flowers for mine, but in case you're not up for that, I created a little template in Photoshop that's similar!
So, first click this template to enlarge, and print it out:
1.
2. Cut directly around the templates.
3. Lay the smaller flower on top of the larger one and sew (or hot glue) a coordinating button in the middle.
4. Hot glue to your headband, and glue a rectangle to the back for extra security.
Scandalously easy!
(Well, until you make 25 of them.....)
These are just the few that I had left over after the guests all took one home. Surprisingly, I got to keep my favorite one! (The red w/ blue flower!)
I love throwing on a headband as I head out of the house!

ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun. I had a dream that I threw a princess and the frog tea party. The table was a blue table cloth and had green plates with some hot pink napkin flowers on them to look like lily pads. Now I want to throw that party! too much fun.

I love your tutorials. Your colors are so great. A random thought... I will ALWAYS skip a tutorial if I dislike the fabric. Anyone else??
ReplyDeleteI love how you can just whip up a tutorial like it's nothing...b/c it isn't nothing...it takes time! Thanks so much for doing that for us! I am soooo making those party hats for my girls next year. Guess I better start early so I'll actually finish in time for Feb and April birthdays! I have to tell you that I LOVE headbands. They are so cute and feminine. Unfortunately for me, my head is shaped in such a way that half an hour later the headband has rolled down to the hairline on my forehead. Grrrrr....lol I think your party decorations are fabulous. I love the colors as well.

ReplyDeleteI love these, so amazingly cute! I'm trying to grow my bangs out right now and they are most firmly in an "awkward" stage and I'm constantly pulling and clipping them back. I made a new flower headband just like your black and cream one almost as soon as I saw this tutorial and I *love* it! The color combo is "grown-up" but the idea is still very youthful. Thanks so much!

What a Fab idea!! My daughter turns four in three weeks and wants a perfectly purple polka dot party this is such a grand way to be able to do something our way and not just what a party store can provide! Thanks so such for the ideas.
