"Field of Flowers" Vase
This is more of a quick idea than a tutorial, really.....
For those of us who can't afford $100 floral arrangements for mom, or for our living rooms:
A vase covered in flowers, to cheer up the room, even when you can't make a trip to the florist!
This one, in particular, was inspired by fields of wildflowers:
Doesn't this just take your breath away?
The vase was as easy as plucking the flowers off of my random assortment of thrift store flowers that I've accumulated over time, and glueing them to a simple vase!
To get the wild, field-grown look, I hot glued flowers in random patterns, and filled it in one color at a time:
Until it was completely covered!
It took only a few minutes (and three sticks of glue), and was really quite fun! :o)
I love the irony (and price!) of putting branches from my tree outside in the vase. It's like an up-side-down floral arrangement!
These branches have been in my living room since November, so they definitely keep longer than fresh flowers do, too! :o)
It's kind of over-the-top fun with flowers in it, too!
I had to really fight the urge to do a monochromatic look with all-white flowers. It seems like I always tend to do the monochromatic thing! So I thought it was time to get a bit more cheery!
(But I still think white would be much prettier!)
Clearly this vase isn't really washable, so I'd recommend slipping a smaller vase (or coffee can) inside to fill with water, if you're using it for fresh flowers.
Have fun with it!
And check back later today for a gorgeous giveaway!!
I love it! It'd be nice in white indeed but it is very neat so colourful too. Maybe because it adds so much colour to the room? I love also the fact that you put branches in it. You're just sooo amazingly creative!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The flowers look so much better as you have used them than they did originally.

So lovely and colorful!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I LOVE it! I think it would be prettier in all white too. That way it wouldn't compete too much if you were to put colorful flowers in the vase.
ReplyDeleteBeyond cute. Also ideal for those of us that don't always have fresh flowers to put in vases (toss a few sticks in this and you're done!)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted this yesterday, it gave me the perfect idea for centerpieces for my garden party this weekend. I made one last night, in all white with just a few pink accents, and it turned out great. It has inspired me for my daughters room. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Disney,

ReplyDeleteI have always thought that flowers from dollar stores or thrift places were not very attractive but you have taken them and created something quite beautiful! Wonderful and creative idea and the circular fans on the wall completes it. I want to try this also.
