I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas....
I never stay up until midnight.
But you know how sometimes you get ideas and you just can't rest until you see them carried out? That was me last night with this Christmas tree that I made for my daughter's room. She loves to "help" decorate our tree, but the control freak in me has to go and fix everything after she's touched it, and that gets old quickly :o)
So I made her this one!
It's double-sided with brown felt and pink polka-dotted cotton, and a layer of batting in between.
With felt and ribbon ornaments to decorate with!
She was absolutely squealing with delight when I gave it to her. I love that feeling when I know I've made something that she'll love!
We've also been busying ourselves making paper chains and pink snowflakes to cheer up her room! Whenever someone comes to our house, she takes them by the hand into her room and tells them "Look! it's pretty!"
That is so cute! STOP making me look like a slacker!!! You get the award for mother of the year!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, so, cute!!! That is such a good idea to give little ones their own tree!! I am filing this idea away at the craftersfilebox.com.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing!!
How big did you make it? Maybe I should make one for Jack's room. ORRRR a sailboat that he can "decorate". Ohhh...fun! =)

ReplyDeleteSo cute! I am jealous of how cute her room is... I really need to do some actual "for us" crafting... My sons would love a tree like that, too! (The ornaments would just get all over the house, though!)

ReplyDeleteYou seems to never run out of ideas. Ever since I had my little girl (after two boys), I started to play with pink more, but I feel like I could do more now.
That is AMAZING! I keep seeing cute Christmas projects that are more scrapbooky and I just can't get into them. I WANT to make this for my daughter. I think she would love it. Hmm...what am I doing tomorrow? lol

Disney, this is gorgeous!! What a fantastic idea :) Thanks so much for sharing it w/us
ReplyDeleteSoo cute! I'm so making this! My kids rearange my tree all day it drives me crazy. not to mention expensive with everything they break! this would totally help that without me having to yell at them and time out them! they are going to thank you too!! :) can't wait to make it! Ours will have to be gender neutral since our boy and girl share a room. but still! :) love the pink and brown!
ReplyDeleteLove love love this! You are such an inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Don't you just love those moments of inspiration when you just can't stop till you've brought what is in your head to reality? Great job.
ReplyDeleteWOW..
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how to make a tree, but my 2yr old needs one so she will stop trying to redecorate ours.
I'm making one for my girls! What a terrific idea.
ReplyDeleteDisney, your rooms could all be in a magazine! I love your taste.
Yet another fabulous idea! When do you sleep? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea! And I love the colors! Who says they always have to be green? I think I'll make a purple one! :)
ReplyDeleteDarling, darling, darling! I just may have to make one of those for my own kids! Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteMy 4 year old was looking over my shoulder and her eyes lit up at the picture of your daughter's room. She now insists I make her a tree and pink snowflakes :o)
