My Before and After Living Room!
Back in September I posted that I was having trouble decorating the living/dining area in our new house. I got lots of lovely suggestions and ideas that were a great help! And I've been working on it little by little, but it's still not quite the way I want it. I promised some pictures a while ago though, so here they are!
This was before:
Before:
After!
I'm going to slowly fill this wall with frames, as I collect them. Right now they have random bird things in them, but I'm not sure how long that will stay...
(yes, I have my tree up. It's been up for a week actually.... ) :o)
This sign is my favorite part of the house. I found it in our garage when we moved in, and since my husband is a preacher, I just had to put it up there!
Another favorite: These are pages from an old 1800's Reader's Digest type book. The pictures and stories are just fascinating!!
This is a large frame I got on clearance at Target when we first got married. I couldn't find a picture to put in it, so I hot glued silk flowers on it instead.
The lamp I made here.
Cozy pillows!
I heart Christmas trees :o)
The things I still need to get done are:
Replace the trim around the floorboards
Get curtains (ugh!)
Prettify my chandelier
Looks fabulous! turned out lovely! love every little detail.

ReplyDeleteDisney, your blog is the only one I visit on a daily basis, it is the bright spot of my morning 'me' time. I'm never disappointed in what I find here...and this is no exception. You're doing a FABULOUS job! Love love love it! ~Rita~
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I love Before & Afters! You did an awesome job. I am in the process of revamping my living room/dining room too but its still all just in my head. I'm trying to map it out. I need curtains too and I think I'm going to go with muslin - cheap and I can double up on the fabric and make the curtains look fuller and still come in on the cheap. I hope! ;D
ReplyDeleteLooks soo great!! I have those couches :).
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by over at my blog to comment on my book wreath as well. I was flattered that you even came by my little blog.
off topic but while i am here, i got a sewing machine a few months ago from my boyfriends mom and i have been intimidated to use it. well i broke it out last week and had a long learning process of threading bobbins and the machine, etc...
but after reading your blog for a while now i decided i HAD to learn (life or death) how to sew some pillows. lets just say my first little sewing job was no show piece but teaching yourself is a littler harder when you know NONE of the lingo and NOTHING about sewing. so if you have any helpful hints for a newbie i would LOVE to hear from you!!
i love all of your work and am inspiried by all that you do. thanks for taking the time to share your talents with us out in blogland.
sorry for the novel... :)
What is the wall color paint called??? LOVE IT!! I am in the market for new living room/dining room redo and I LOVE the buttery color of the walls!!
ReplyDeletelove the before and after, thanks for sharing, everything seems warmer. My husband is a preacher too :)
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about using drop clothes from Home Depot for curtains. Beneath my heart used some and they look really nice and they are pretty cheap.
ReplyDeleteYour home is incredibly beautiful! love the 'preacher' sign.

you should do a collage of old book pages (or old photos) in the big frame with the flowers in it! The re-do is AMAZING!!! Your husband must be VERY proud of you!!!!!!!
