Frumpy Dress Refashion
Well, Larissa, you twisted my arm. Here's another post for the day!
Another "refashion", or as I sometimes like to call them, "Ta-da! projects".....
I bought this dress for $1 at a thrift store the other day because I wanted the brown velvet to make Paige something. But then I thought "hey, why not make something for yourself for once?". So here it is:
Before.....
Ta-da! After!
I could have cropped the teddy bear out of that picture, but it appealed to my sense of humor. :o)Here is a back view. There are buttons all the way down, but you can't really see them.
Awwww! You look gorgeous in it!! Perfect for Fall! I love your blog the most!!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! I want to spend some time with you and have some of that creativity rub off on me. Hmmm. How can I work that out? I'm thinking of a plan...
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely die of happiness if you ever came to visit! We have a whole separate floor for guests to stay in! I know that's a long trip for the girls though. That's when you start thinking about those DVD players that people have in their cars! :o)
ReplyDeleteYou so look like Angelina Jolie in these pics! Totally something she would wear! Beautiful
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you made that beautiful dress from that frumpy one!!! Awesome! Talented!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you are so brilliant. I just extended the life of one of my daughters dresses. You are such an inspiration. I see many more ruffles in my future.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!!! I have never really sewn before, but I have decided to learn and this is JUST what I was looking for! I want to find thrift store pieces and fix them up. How on earth did you do this???? I would LOVE a tutorial on one of your ta-da pieces!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a charming dress, indeed! :)
ReplyDeleteOh this is beautiful! You have such a nice silhouette.
ReplyDeleteI love the back of this dress! It's beautiful and alluring without breaking with my conservative dressing habits. Truly an amazing job.
